Searchable PDF

Adds an invisible text layer to scans. Depends on phone-scan quality; it can be slow.

  1. Nothing is uploaded The PDF opens and downloads in your browser. We do not keep a copy.
  2. Compression is honest Photo-heavy PDFs shrink. Text-only files barely change. We do not promise a size.
  3. Locked files If there is a password, type it. If it still fails, the file is damaged or the password is wrong. We do not crack passwords.

Where do the PDFs go?

They stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. If you allow it, page stats and ads run; the file does not leave.

Why is OCR slow?

Recognition runs in the browser, page by page. The first run downloads language data; the PDF is not uploaded. A blurry phone photo yields weak text.
